Primary Plus, a joint venture company set up by John Laing and Bank of Scotland to build new state-of-the-art community health and social care facilities across the country under the Government’s Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) initiative, has made four new appointments in Nottinghamshire.

Two project managers have been recruited to support both Greater Nottingham and North Nottinghamshire LIFT companies through construction and into operation of their state-of-the-art health and social care centres. Amanda Callow (seconded to North Nottinghamshire LIFT Company) and Jonathan Baldock (seconded to Greater Nottingham LIFT Company) manage the supply chain and client relationships through scheme construction and into operation.

Two commercial managers, Jerry Major and David Bennett, have been employed to work with Greater Nottingham LIFT and North Nottinghamshire LIFT companies to develop new schemes. Their remit includes identifying suitable plots of land and the exact public sector requirements for new premises before progressing them to ‘financial close’ at which point they hand over the schemes to the operations team.

Lee Clayton, the Nottinghamshire LIFT companies’ chief executive says: “The Nottinghamshire LIFT companies continue to go from strength to strength. Primary Plus' new starters will help us to both grow the business further in the future and continue to meet the requirements of our public sector clients.”

The modernisation programmes are being achieved through two Nottingham-based LIFT companies, local public private partnerships that are owned by private sector partner Primary Plus (the majority shareholder) along with three local primary care trusts (Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire County and Bassetlaw) along with Nottingham City Council and the Department of Health’s Partnerships for Health.
