Bull Farm: Buddies 'Surgery' Project

Bull Farm in Mansfield has for many years been recognised as a deprived area in desperate need of a community facility that would specifically benefit children and young people who live there but also those from further afield. Currently, with no such facility, boredom and frustration can take root which can often lead to incidents of anti-social behaviour and a negative perception and misunderstanding of young people by some of the older and more vulnerable residents.

The vision of Buddies is to create a multi purpose community facility in Bull Farm located in the building which housed the old doctors' surgery that would be accessible to all local young people and where they knew that they would be welcomed and could feel safe which would have a huge positive impact upon the neighbourhood. The project has the potential of being a flagship for provision of services for children and young people in Bull Farm and the surrounding areas.

Primary Plus and the Nottingham LIFT Companies are joining forces to support the Buddies initiative by providing resources to help bring the building up to a compliant and useable standard as well as giving support and advice on the production of a business plan for the project.
